Add Watermark to PDF Free — Text & Image
Adding a watermark to a PDF marks it as confidential, draft, or branded before sharing. PDFInOne's Watermark tool lets you add text or image watermarks to every page of your PDF — for free, without uploading the file to any server.
💧 Text and image watermarks added locally in your browser. File never leaves your device.
Two Watermark Types
✏️ Text Watermark
Write any text — "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT", your company name. Choose opacity, size, and rotation angle.
🖼️ Image Watermark
Upload a logo or stamp image (PNG with transparency recommended). Positioned and scaled across every page.
How to Add a Watermark to a PDF
Go to pdfinone.com and click Watermark PDF.
Select your PDF file. It stays on your device — no upload takes place.
Choose text or image watermark. Set opacity (typically 20–40% for a subtle look), size, and rotation.
Click Process and download your watermarked PDF. The watermark appears on every page.
Common Watermark Uses
- CONFIDENTIAL — mark internal documents before sharing externally
- DRAFT — prevent confusion between working versions and final documents
- SAMPLE — share previews of paid content or proposals
- Company logo — brand documents sent to clients
- DO NOT COPY — deter unauthorized reproduction of sensitive content
- Date stamp — mark document version with creation date
✅ Tip: Use a PNG image with a transparent background for image watermarks. This ensures the watermark blends cleanly with the page content behind it.
What Opacity Should I Use?
For most use cases:
- 15–25% opacity — subtle watermark, document content remains fully readable
- 40–60% opacity — clearly visible watermark, harder to ignore
- 80–100% opacity — solid stamp effect, partially obscures content
Diagonal placement at 45° is the most common and hardest to crop out. PDFInOne defaults to diagonal positioning.
